School Admissions

Admissions for pupils aged 5-11 years old is managed by Suffolk County Council. 

If the local authority manages your admissions process, refer parents to the local authority to find out about your school’s admission and appeal arrangements.

Admissions for Nursery are managed by the school. For a tour and an application form please contact Deborah Thomas on 01787 372107.

Admissions for Reception Year to Year 6

Pot Kiln Primary School is a school for boys and girls from 4 – 11 years of age and is maintained by Suffolk County Council. We have a published admission number (PAN) of 45. Should this number be exceeded, we will follow the Local Authority (LA) set criteria for admission when offering places.

Applications for children starting Reception the following September, and children of any age moving schools during the academic year, should be made via Suffolk CC admissions

Education Admission Appeals

If you’ve received a letter from an Admission Authority refusing your child a place at your preferred school(s) in Suffolk you’ve the right to appeal that decision.

The Education Appeals Office arranges appeals for:

  • all local authority and voluntary controlled schools
  • all local authority voluntary aided schools
  • the majority of academies

Appointments to look around the school can be made via the School Office.

We also have a nursery which operates from the school site to which applications can be made direct to the school at any time
